Introduction to Agape Love
Because of the way God our Father created us, we all have in the depths of our human heart a space that is reserved only for a relationship with Him, Jesus His Son, and Holy Spirit.
To reach the fullness of His presence and love is a journey. This Journey of Love requires agape love. Why? Because it flows from our Trinitarian God, Three Persons in One, Who deeply and totally desire a love union experience with us. Only human beings can enter into it. They are spiritually fashioned to be reborn and grow in this agape love experience. The other forms of human love will not bring us into this intimate relationship.
Jesus the Son of God became human like us in all things except sin. He revealed the truths of the necessity of our rebirth and growth. He made possible this awesome spiritual journey. Consider the bible’s New Testament Gospels to be His School of Love. The life, death, and writings of His early followers are full of wisdom for those whose hearts hunger to know and experience this desire of His heart. Jesus our Savior, identified Himself as the Bridegroom, an expression He used to quicken our hearts to want to know and grow progressively how to live with Him this spiritual union through Holy Scriptures. Catholic theological and mystical writings are also rich with knowledge and examples available for this Agape Journey of Love.
Jesus’ human-divine heart thirsts for the unique response of agape love in each person loved by the Trinity. His Heart grieves when we do not choose to respond to this call of love.

In partnership with another person, and even perhaps with a group of persons, you may desire to pursue this union life with our loving Triune God. Groups of persons on this Agape Journey of Love have through spiritual disciplines formed small Communities of Love.
